Philosophy of the Three Simple Rules
I have Three Simple Rules I hold my home buyer clients to when they are ready to buy a home:
- Buy a home you like- Okay, this is obvious.
- Buy a home you can re-sell in a timely fashion- According to an insurance commercial I see on TV a lot, Life comes at you fast. When your life changes you want to be able to pack up and move when you are ready, not when the market says you can. This is where it gets tricky… Think “Location, Location, Location!” I know the Raleigh real estate market well and I spend a lot of time reviewing what’s happening where for a reason. There are NO guarantees, but a knowledgeable decision about what makes a good location is a start. Think of this as buying with re-sale in mind.
- Buy a home that you can hopefully sell at a profit- This is a really tough one. This combines location, updates, lifestyle, etc… all in one. This is where experience comes really into play. Again, there are NO guarantees but experience has shown that smart, well thought out decisions are the best way to be successful.
